Motion Graphic Designer

Do you have 3-5 years industry motion graphic design experience, a solid showreel and an interest in cycling?

The Motion Graphics Designer is responsible for designing and animating key motion graphic elements for all content  across all Play Sports Network (PSN) content including editorial, commercial, digital promotions and multimedia campaigns across all groups of channels (Road, Triathlon or Off Road).

You’ll report into the Creative Director and interpret and realise the creative vision for our content. You will work collaboratively with the Head of Content and video creators to produce high-quality media content and uphold the expectation of creative excellence within the Company.

You will instil the work ethic required in your team and especially Junior Motion graphic designers and demonstrate good organisational and communication skills, a passion for working in a fast paced, dynamic environment and a desire to get the job done.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and animate graphics for our channels and commercial department. Examples include: experiential GFX segments, digital signage, promos, show/segment intros, bumpers, interstitials, bugs, lower 3rds and transitions.
  • Design and animate graphics for original video productions, digital signage and various other short format segments.
  • Mentor junior motion designers in the group
  • Ensure permission and rights for any licensed material used (music, images etc)
  • Create original designs and animations that support our content strategy and complement current branding.
  • Assist with special projects and internal assignments.
  • Deliver quality projects within strict deadlines and budgets.
  • Maintain file structures and project organisation to enable video creators to implement graphical elements
  • Work as part of a team to explore briefs and generate ideas
  • Assist with the development, preparation and delivery of creative proposals and pitches, generating style frames, storyboards and example animation.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years motion graphic design industry experience
  • Showreel that illustrates  your experience and abilities with a broad range of projects and techniques
  • Experienced with Trapcode (especially Particular and Mir)
  • Understand the technical processes and pipeline involved in video production.
  • Competent with MAC OS and MAC environments.
  • Must have excellent design, layout, typography and colour theory skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and related plugins.
  • Generalist, working knowledge of Cinema 4D and related modules.
  • Interactive, UI Design, mobile app design/production experience and ability to draw or storyboard a plus.
  • Must have excellent design, layout, typography and colour theory skills.
  • Familiar with working with a variety of resolutions, multi-panel configurations, frame rates, and pixel aspect ratios.
  • Experienced in team leading and/or mentoring more junior members of a team.
  • Conceptual thinker and visual problem solver.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Art school or university.
